Catastrophic flooding expected near Rockport

In an alert sent out in the early hours of Saturday, the National Weather Service warned those who remained near Rockport, Tex., to “move to higher ground now” and to “act quickly to protect your life.” The region remains under flash flood warning until 6:45 a.m. Central time. “If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately,” the weather service said. “Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate precautions to protect life and property.”
